Yoga is more than just the practice of asana (postures and forms). It is a way in which we can observe the quality of our experience as if unfolds in the space that we create, both internally and externally, by noticing breath and areas of tension, by being aware of movement and stillness. Sonia's sessions are offered in this spirit of compassionately listening to and following the natural movements of body and breath, to meet each person where they are and to begin working from there.
Sonia offers specialized workshops and teaches yoga at various studios in the city. She also offers courses for private groups and personalized mentoring sessions for experienced practitioners.
Meditation helps us more actively participate in life by offering tools and techniques to form a different relationship with our experience. In this way, we can understand how to respond more effectively to what life presents to us, and thereby reduce stress, struggle and confusion - and have a clearer sense of how to manage life's various challenges.
Drawing on her background in yoga, bodywork, dance, and somatic practice, Sonia offers private consultations and regular workshops to help people explore meditation as a living and dynamic process, moving from exactly where they are into the experience - versus the idea - of practice and what these teachings are pointing towards.
"Sonia provided me with some essential skills to apply mindfulness meditation to the busy world of medicine. This has enabled me to not treat meditation as a task, chore or competition, but rather to be completely and utterly aware of anything and everything that happens both inside and outside of me; helping me to be completely present."

"Sonia's personal integrity, experience-based practice, extensive technical expertise, and peaceful energy make her a unique and very talented teacher and practitioner. I have never felt both as safe and as ready to explore my physical and spiritual strength through yoga, as when I had Sonia as my teacher. Because she listens and watches her students with sincere attention, Sonia is an excellent teacher for students of any level. Her teaching and healing energy continue to positively affect my practice to this day.

"I had never practiced meditation before I participated in a workshop that Sonia offered to medical students. She tailored her teaching to help us introduce meditation into our lives in a way that was truly relevant and realistic. The workshop was a wonderful experience because of her expertise and her considerate approach, and I have already and will continue to benefit from her guidance and suggestions." - K.F.
