Thai Massage is done on a floor-mat, in comfortable clothes. The massage uses a a combination of focused muscular release, breath-work and acupressure, helping to ease tension and work with the body on a physical and energetic level.
California massage is based on the principle that we are whole, connected to ourselves and to this earth, and deserving of compassionate touch. It is an oil-based massage, which helps clients become aware not simply of where, but of how, they hold tension within their body.
Hawaiian Massage (Lomi-Lomi)
Lomi-Lomi was originally a ritual massage to mark transitions in life, to help "reweave" areas of the body that were disconnected through physical or emotional trauma, tension, or pain. Lomi-Lomi means "to rub back-&-forth" and refers to the gentle motion inherent in the technique, which uses long, flowing movements that weave up and down the body. Heated stones and custom-blended oils are part of the treatment.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective/fascial tissues. This approach is particularly effective for chronic tension or pain in specific areas due to injury or over-use, or recovery from various procedures to release adhesions and support a return to ease of movement.
"Sonia was my first yoga teacher, my meditation teacher, and my massage therapist, and she's great because she cares about people. If I'm on a bus, reading a newspaper, buying a shirt, or whatever, I often think how great the world would be if we all put all of ourselves into what we do. Sonia does that every time."
- Sean Dent, Account Manager
"Sonia, is patient, kind and spectacular. She listens to and understands my body on a level that makes me comfortable. I would not hesitate to send clients her way."
